Reviews for HorribleSubs/NicoNico/FuniSubs/etc.
These are groups/releases that rip subtitles from “professional” releases. If a group releases an edited version of these subs, I’m not going to bother reviewing them. Why? Because it’s a waste of time when one could reasonably assume that the edited release is going to be better. These subs will only tend to be reviewed when no one rips them for improvements or when the groups that rip them fuck up the scripts.
Assuming the quality of groups
I’m usually not going to assume the quality of fansub groups when making my recommendations. My recommendations here will be based entirely upon the reviews I make, unless there is reasonable information to suggest otherwise.

Thanks for the reviews has always and Chiki picked Twin Angel back up but they’re using the subs from niconico now I don’t know if they edited it or not. ┐(￣ー￣)┌
But if they did I bet it’s horrible since they fail on so many levels.
i want to see if one person can do better than the staff at Chiki for R-15 so review my release if you have time. hopefully your criticism will prove helpful for my future projects if i decide to continue fagsubbing.

Ah, so you don’t take the translation quality into account when judging releases? I always thought that was a huge criteria for judging a fansub release… aside from the quality of English that is.
Translation quality *is* an important part, of course. But it needs more than a basic or mediocre grasp of the Japanese language to be able to do that. I guess if he could do it, he would.
Shitty editing can kill good translations though, it’s so easy to change a few words and kill the flow or the whole meaning of a dialogue.
