There are some serious issues with the anime adaptation of Devil Survivor 2.

Accurate

To say I’m disappointed is an understatement. The show is nothing like the game.

Atlus, this isn’t how you get people interested in the series. Don’t blame me when the series bombs, because I warned you. On my niche-as-fuck website. Way too late after the fact to matter.

Perhaps next time you’ll listen.

  4. There is going to be a lot of things not in the game if the manga adaptation is anything to go by. And the anime is most definitely the manga adaptation.

    At least we’ll be seeing a bit of male Tico.

  7. Well, I haven’t played the game and thought the episode was fine. I think the “best girl” mentioned something about the MC being op. Overpowered main characters are no sign for a bad show (Mondaiji). I’ll keep watching for now ^^
    And Byakko is kinda cute :3

  8. In my opinion, this show is enjoyable if we don’t think about the game. I mean sometimes there’s no choice but to get away from the real stuff. If we think this from anime point of view, they had to give the protagonist level 53 demon, because he’s the protagonist. Again, you can enjoy it only if you pretend you never have heard of its game. (I remember watching Death Note in English after watching in Jap, it sucks in English no matter how much I try)

  10. Aside from Byakko summoned on the 1st day I don’t really have a problem with this anime. Why don’t they showed us 3~6 lower level demons ganging up the boss, instead of Byakko goes 1-on-1. If they do this, I’m sure the feeling of team battle from its game can be achieved.
