Sort of? The actual idiom is just the “or die trying” part, with the part at the beginning being used to refer to whatever action needs to be done. It looks like they mixed it up with the “Do or die” idiom. No, it wasn’t clever enough to work.

Commie’s gave the gist that she came to school infrequently, which is a lot different than never coming to school. And it makes more sense because it becomes believable that she’d participate in a class activity.

  2. Out of gg, Commie and Evetaku that releases Shingeki no Kyojin earliest, which one would you recommend?

    I download the Lag-Taka versions for archiving and rewatching.

    • The answer is “Not Commie”. I haven’t checked out EveTaku or gg’s releases, so I can’t say much about them, though.

      • Objectively, I feel like Commie’s editing is pretty decent though (save for the whole Eoten thing). Maybe I lack D_S’ discerning eye though.

        • It’s certainly better than gg. …although they do have an excuse.

          I download EveTaku because Commie’s edit of the title makes the OP lag on my computer.

          • Mine only lagged on the first episode (90k lines of typesetting is ridiculous) but episodes 2 and onwards supposedly /only/ have ~15k lines, so my computer plays them fine.

            Other than the title, I really like their OP typesetting. They did a good job matching it to the credits and everything.

    • The encoder for Lag-Taka does VFR when he should be doing IVTC. I wouldn’t recommend this for an archive as he has no clue what he’s doing. I watched Hatsu for 1 and EveTaku for the rest. Wasn’t too impressed with the 5 mistakes I found in episode 5.
