Every release for this show sucks. May as well just watch the Crunchyroll version and suffer through it. No reason to delay the pain you’re guaranteed either way.

But for those keeping record, Commie’s version is the best.

  2. Well, no one who can speak English would be able to make sense of the ED just by listen to it though…

    I’ll give you some “English” from it:

    “It just a seemed like one scene of a film
    I need lore”

    “Its only one
    We gotta choose it
    So do we?
    Just about a leave, faraway
    Ikirutame
    Its only one
    Can you drive your destiny?
    Be it”

    – “be” here actually intended use the “to live/exist” meaning
    – “Its” is exactly how it was printed.

    “Hold your hand
    You don’t to meet someone’s end no more
    So do I
    For not to leave
    Don’t want to get a wrong choice”

    -“don’t to meet someone’s end no more” roughly should have been “don’t want to see any more people dying”

    If not for the JPese above the longer “English” parts, a big chunk of the ED is impossible to decrypt…

    • With Engrish, you don’t need to perfectly transcribe it. Best to fudge it slightly to make it work. So those lines would be

      I have not thought about living until yesterday -> I had not thought about living until yesterday
      It just a seemed like one scene of a film -> It all just seems like one scene in a film
      I need lore -> Probably not what he says. Anime-Koi guessed “I am burned”. You could throw anything in here.

      It’s impossible to get perfection with Engrish, but you can come close to competency.

  3. I disagree with the Plan B line. Even though it sounds horrendous in my own diction, it’s a valid way of saying that particular phrase that I’ve heard many Americans say in plenty of films. Usually followed by “AMERICA! FUCK YEAH!” or whatever.

    You sure you parsed this correctly? Not that the lines are amazing as is, but “they” is probably a reference to the content of prior lines, not the next one. I mean, it contains the “erased” from the prior line and isn’t {\i1} like the next.

      It’s still problematic with that parsing. You’d want it to be “Everything will be erased.” because “they” doesn’t match up with civilization/history/the world/the fact that humanity ever existed here/the very idea of humanity itself.
