Skipped to episode 10. I assume I haven’t missed anything relevant to the plot.

Visual Review
Karaoke.
Opening. Sometimes the color choices matched, and they did a cool thing with the cosplay shoot bit in the middle, but overall you could tell this was rushed. Guess I chose a bad episode for them since it looks like the OP and ED were both created just for this episode. Too bad for them, though. I’m not about to pick and choose eps based on which’ll score the best. Eve’ll get the same treatment, no worries.
Oh well, this was decent by Commie standards.
Rating: Okay.
Ending. I don’t understand all the color choices, but it was all right enough since most hit the mark.
Rating: Okay+.
Typesetting.
Good thing “Manami-oneesan” and “Manami” mean exactly the same thing, amirite? Ah, I’m just giving ya shit, Commie. You’re good; you can put down the mad now.
Thanks for putting some effort into this. Eve didn’t even try.
Sure am glad I can tell what they were. Thanks, Commie.
Decent typesets on the whole.

Sponsor-less sponsor screens? In my Commie fansub release?
Script Review
Main Script.
was; isn’t
was; wasn’t
ClariS is a group, not a person.
Do tell me what “soon” has to add to the sentence.
Holy pig-fucking Mohammed, Commie went whole hog on the swearing here. (Kirino’s cussing the shit out of her boss in the last screen.)
For a show like OreImo, no, it didn’t really fit. Instead it came across as Commie going “Look at all the swearing we can add just for the giggles! Aren’t we so hilarious? Laugh with us! Hahaha!”
Ha, indeed. Bad characterization, especially if done solely for the sake of your entertainment, negatively affects the quality of the script. It’s really fucking unfortunate they did this too, since the script was pretty solid otherwise.
Things I won’t bitch about
I hesitate to call these issues, but they are things I would fix if the script were handed to me.
I’d rather have “example” here than “one”, especially considering this is the only reason she gives. (Yes, I know how “for one” is used may be considered correct. I just don’t like it.)
“thieving cat” isn’t a thing in English. But it’s contextually obvious what it means, and wapanese enough that it could be considered a stylish choice on the part of the editor/TL.
Generally you’re going to want to introduce yourself with something other than “It’s me.” But she did say “Watashi desu.”
Anyway, you get the picture. There are various lines in each script I review that I may feel deserve change, but not to a high-enough degree that I’m going to specifically call them out under the Main Script section. Though in a review where one of my principal problems with a script is excessive fetishization of Japanese terms, I might throw in the “thieving cat” line as a representative issue. Anyway, that’s enough of my internal processes. On we go~
Comments
Commie’s comments were the best part of this release. (Everything hidden in brackets won’t be seen by the viewers who watch the release.)
The joke doesn’t translate that well to post format, but it’s essentially a lighthearted fuck you to groups that use honorifics.

Watchability: Watchable.

Overall grade: B
Beyond the unnecessary changes they made to the characters, Commie had a good script here. It’s sad their distaste of their own audience had to affect it.
>Generally you’re going to want to introduce yourself with something other than “It’s me.”
Unless you expect the person picking up the phone to recognize you by voice; it is Ayase, after all. Pretty common thing, actually.
Oh, and as for “thieving cat”…
What the hell’s up with that link?
No idea. I blame it on BBCode. It was just a link to a Google query for “thieving cat”, which does appear to be “a thing” in English… at least when referring to actual felonious felines.
Thieving Cat -> Cat Burglar.
Hard to say whether it would have fit, but that is definitely a thing in English.
They’d mean different things in this context. “thieving cat” isn’t an actual English idiom.
Fair enough, and a good reason it didn’t need to be listed as an error. I’d put it as “It’s me, Ayase.” just for clarity’s sake.
I say “Yo, it’s me” all the time. Especially with all cells having caller ID nowadays. I doubt it’d need changing.
And yeah, what is a thieving cat? I’ve heard of “dirty, no-good rats” and cat burglars, but not a thieving cat.
This entire season has been about Kyousuke and Kirino becoming closer to each other as siblings. There’s been many bumps along the way of course. Ayase (and to a lesser extent Kuroneko) also became closer to Kyousuke. It was all pretty boring tbh. OreImo fans overwhelmingly prefer S1.
No skipping ahead Yahari please.
I’m guessing you haven’t seen the latest episodes. And I’m guessing you must also be some supreme telepath to know what OreImo fans prefer.
Incest? I always thought that the big draw here, and considering how the series ends…
I’ve seen up to episode 11.
As for what OreImo fans prefer? I refer myself to a limited sample audience. If i’m wrong, i’ll gladly admit it. If you got something that says that OreImo fans prefer season 2, i’d love to see it.
I haven’t seen it, because I didn’t think it looked interesting. But now I wonder, what do people like about the show?
