Translation
Karaoke.
OP. Didn’t even touch the epic OP.
ED. In case you haven’t noticed, this is the same group I failed in the PV party because of their horribly translated lyrics. I guess they don’t read my shitty blog posts because these lyrics read pretty much the same way as they were written in the PV. And as you can see, it doesn’t appear that they know simple Japanese set phrases (korekara means literally “from here forward,” but here it should be “I’m not done yet” or “This is just the beginning” or something along those lines).
Main Script.
They decide to go with “mojo,” and since I’m an unrepentant weaboo, that’s all fine with me. However, looking through the rest of the typesetting brings out the D_S in me.
Try, “One out of three times, a guy would pick up my eraser.”
See, they even show you it’s a fucking ratio.
Um, no. Tomoko says sei ga midareru which means, as the other subbers have put down, “hormones going wild.”
First of all, you lose points for the whole Yoda speak. Second of all, machidooshii means “cannot wait.”
A whole bunch of perfectly audible background walla was missed here.
They forgot the “I’m Not Popular” part of the title.
Bitches Sluts.
These lines are wrong in so many ways…
“Go ahead and spend your cliched teenage years with your fellow scum.”
Didn’t bother to sub the ii jan betsu ni (“Hey, why not?”).
“I can’t stand cram school.”
Don’t know what they think bakkure means, but it’s NOT “to flunk” (hint: it means skipping cram school).
I think we all know the asterisks in this line are supposed to be Parasyte, right? Apparently t4w’s translator didn’t know that. Hell, in the audio they even covered up that copyright-infringing word with a beastly growl one of those creatures make.
The guy is saying “I’m coming soon!” in perfect engrish.
Gestalt decay? If I type that in Google, will it give me more information on that term? So here they chose to literally translate the Japanese phrase geshutaruto houkai, which is apparently recognized commonly as the German word “Gestaltzerfall.” And strangely enough, that furrin-looking word is the one that will lead you in the right direction in finding out what the hell she’s talking about.
Also, how the hell are they getting these three-liners that appear everywhere in this script? I look through the .ass file, but can’t figure out what’s causing that, can someone help me?
lolnope.avi
“I’d be a hit among guys who are into lolis!”
Zero for six for this “I’d be listed in a whorehouse catalog,” line.
Fucking typeset this. It’s fucking important that people know she’s gaagling for ways to look more kawaii.
Oh, god… I didn’t think they were abbreviating “Winners Eleven,” doh!
At least two different crutch phrases used in this line, but since her brother mentioned how she’s sounding weird immediately after this, I guess it’s passable.
They forgot to sub the line “Or else I’ll kill myself!”
One of the few groups that gets this line right.
Score yet another group that doesn’t get what a chara-o (a cheap gash hound) is.
Didn’t bother to typeset these.
Forgot a “Hai”.
Nope. Read manga for free.
See. The jitaku keibi (“home security”) joke doesn’t translate well when you are a below-average subber. But the bigger mistake is that they translated hiru (“midday”) into “evening.”
From now on what? Complete the fucking thought. The line is supposed to be, “Whatever, it’ll [the boyfriends and gal pals] all come.”
Missing walla.
No typesetting, if you want to know what those characters say, you’re on your fucking own.
“We stood in line for an hour in order to eat there!”
Once again, anyone’s guess what the fuck this place is.
Other Observations
The timing in these subs are all fucked, but this one came waaay too late. Plus the position of the subs are way too low, and they used a shareraw.
Final Grade: D
Original grade was a C- since this release was riddled with all sorts of errors, but none that actually affected the overall understanding of the story. However, since they decided not to touch the OP, their grade goes down a few notches. It’s just as well since there’s no need to bother with these subs at all. Better translated and more polished subs that don’t have missing lines and such are likely to be released faster than these ones, so you’re better off getting those instead.
Shit’s borked for me too. http://www.crymore.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/t4w-Watashi-ga-Motenai-no-wa-Dou-Kangaetemo-Omaera-ga-Warui-01-24538062.mkv_snapshot_09.20_2013.07.12_01.19.59.jpg
Beautiful review, though.

Prob’ly fucked up margins + forced linebreak with \N… That’s why newfag groups should use \n if they forgot how to QC.
No, it’s a bug with WrapStyle 3 that remained unfixed for a while until around 5 months ago for VSFilter.

Hmm these guys asked me to encode for a v2 so I think they were planning on fixing some stuff…
My reply was why are they subbing it when FTW does a fine job…
Does mojo come with a TL note or anything? If I saw ‘mojo’ my first thought would not be ‘unpopular girl’.
My first thought: http://i.imgur.com/PfGQaGS.gif
Well, she’s looking up “Mojo” at the beginning of the episode, so i don’t think it needs a TL note
