Because this is a short anime, I’ll be grading these releases a little bit differently than I do a regular anime episode release since there is literally lesser room for error. I won’t be grading on a “pass/fail” basis since obviously more effort was required than just copying/pasting a crunchyscript onto a raw, so I came up with this grading scheme: for every error I see I drop you down a letter grade.
Karaoke.
This short’s ED. Since the official lyrics have been out forever, I will be grading their translation a lot more harsher harshly (apparently using adjectives [especially comparative adjectives] as adverbs is strictly verboten, according to some ivory tower elitists >_>). It was mostly good, but here they obviously misheard 快晴 (clear weather, blue skies) as 回生 (rejuvenation). So take off a point.
Main Script.
I’d rather go with “steady development,” but oh well.
She says hontou ni not mazui.
Nope. She says myaku ari which means “there’s a pulse” in the literal sense and “I still have a chance” in the actual sense.
Other Observations
What in the actual fuck is up with these subs? Are the people in CMS literally still in sixth grade?
Final Grade: D
Three mistakes equal three letter grades.

ED. Similarly, the official lyrics are out, so no excuses. This is supposed to be ima rirura hashiru yo, and the lyrics provide the helpful hint that rirura means “little love.” So that means the English is supposed to be “Right now my little love is running” or sumshit like that.
Main Script.
CMS can’t into 2nd person pronouns. Half a point.
Seikaku = personality.

“Master” not “Dear.” No, it’s not easy to get confused when you encounter the word danna-sama. She’s a fucking maid for fucksakes.
No. Literal translation of atashi ni apiiru shitemo is, of course, “even if you appeal to me,” so I’ll go on a limb and assume that CMS went to Denshi Jisho and thought apiiru in this case meant Asako thinks Shinobu is appealing. However, if you go to a better dictionary, you’ll see it means “trying to appeal to,” or “show off.” So the line should be “I’m not the one you’re trying to impress.”
I may as well use this opportunity to say that I see too many subs where translators don’t know how to handle the word bakappuru. Hell, I even seen a couple of official subs where they just leave the word untranslated. It’s like the similar English phrases “love birds” or “get a room” never occurs to them. CMS’s rendition of the word here is acceptable, though.
Other Observations
Hnnnnnnnggh!
Final Grade: F-
Four and a half mistakes equal the grade you see here. This is exactly what I’m talking about when I say subs can look pretty good visually but still have amateurish translations.
That’s pretty harsh.
Think of it as the “Three-Strikes Law.”
You’re still posting with your old domain btw. (dunno how this is related to the comment though)
It has everything to do with the comment.
Fix’d.
TODAY I’M FEELING GREAT
GETCHU GETCHU
puddi loves this show.
Because he identifies with the main heroine, right?
ANATA NO KOKORO WO LABU LABU GECCHU
Most underrated show of 2012.
Must be, because I haven’t watched it yet
( ゚∀゚)アハハ八八ノヽノヽノヽノ \ / \/ \
Those goddamn effects on the subtitles pissed me off so much.
You know what? I’ve made my peace with shitty karaoke effects, but if those same effects start showing up in the subs themselves, then there’s going to be hell to pay.
Keep away from Anime-Koi and save yourself
…and you broke the RSS feed. Hasn’t happened in a while, huh.
