Karaoke.
OP. Leans literal, but otherwise all right. However, that’s supposed to be nigecha.
ED. They upped the literal on this one because they don’t believe in spoonfeeding you plebs what the lyrics actually imply. However, what the hell are they trying to do here with this one line? You try to read it, then right in the middle it jumps to the other side. And people wonder why I hate shitty-ass karaoke effects.
Main Script.
This line comes way too late.
She says hame ni naru which means whatever’s happening to her was not what she desired, so this line should read “I never would have thought I’d wind up returning after a year.”
Ruby or whatever that thing is says 帰休 which means “furlough.” The way the line is now, one might assume that she’s home permanently. No I was wrong, it’s actually 帰郷 or “return home”
“Corkscrews” would make more sense.
I will note that she does say okusamatachi or “Madam and the others.
What the hell is a “poxy stick”? Yes, I even tried googling it.
In these neck of the woods, we call them things “magic wands.”
“Fall in love” is not the right phrase to use here, since she’s already fiending for her (step)brother’s D. Try “and even get lovey-dovey using magic!”
This line comes late AND I wanted to add some mahou shoujo fanservice pics to this post.
The phrase azatoi kurai does not convey the sense of innocence that Doki rendered in this line. They’re saying she’s “cloyingly cute towards her target market of Bigger Buddies.”
It would have made for a better line if they say “Lolis really do make the best magical girls!”
Girls calling other girls “bastards” isn’t the latest big thing since One Direction, is it?
It’s lines like these that aren’t going to win them any scriptwriting awards.
Other Observations
They actually took the time to typeset this book that’s only on screen for half a second, and readable for only half that time.
Buuuut this sign gets no McLovin (everything in English was done by the studio).
Pop quiz: How many people are speaking in this line?
Final Grade: B+
If you don’t mind a few derpy translations and a few more derpy lines, period, then there is no reason not to get this release. Honestly, I was expecting worse.

British slang, it looks like.
Hokay, I guess that explains it :^\
Confirmed. Poxy is our way of saying rubbish, though we don’t use it all that often. I very rarely hear it nowadays.
And rubbish is your way of saying what?
Trash/garbage :D
But only as an adjective. Not as a known. You wouldn’t say “I’m just sticking out the poxy” for instance. But poxy as an adjective just means low-grade – from the noun “pox” which you find in chicken pox and such, so probably means irritating more than anything.
“Known”? I don’t get it. I think you mean “noun”.
Very surprising to see FalseDawn make grammatical blunders.
He must be from Liverpool or something if those are homophones ~_~
Nope, but I’m mildly impressed by your knowledge of British dialects, fnord.
Ha! Obviously wasn’t awake when I wrote that. Brain hadn’t engaged yet :D
Okay, I get it. It’s a play on the words “Pixy Stix” lawl.

Last part of this comment is interesting.
