Not as good as Underwater, but it’s not all bad.

Visual Review
Karaoke.
Opening. Get it, guys? It’s like rainbows, but totally not! And it’s pink! Ahahahaha, such hilarity. So many laughs to be had! You practical pranksters, Commie. Where do you come up with such lolarious ideas?
Rating: Bad.
Ending. What a shitty, shitty font. It doesn’t match the ending, or the theme of the show, or even the song playing. Basically it’s just colored words on a screen with no visual impact on the viewer. Might as well put this shit in Arial and call it a day. At least that font can handle apostrophes.
Rating: Bad.
Typesetting.
Commie often positions their text right over the signs. Garish. :(
That’s nice, Commie. Which is the two-star?
This sign could really only be caught on fade-out.
I almost wish I gif’d it just so you could see how terrible the motion tracking is on this sign. Ugh.
This coulda easily been typeset.
The literal fuck is this? My grandparents might be interested, but I’m certainly not.
I don’t really get why Commie switches between white and red and black and red.
Normally I dislike it when groups cover up Japanese text when there’s room to place English beside it, but for a show like Kill la Kill which utilizes signs to make an impact on the viewer… when a large sign is supposed to hit you in the face, it makes sense for the English sign to do so as well.
Here, the English is just so small, you’re not really getting the same effect as you would with a release like Underwater’s.
The typesetting wasn’t close to as good as Underwater’s. I’m glad Commie tried, but I wish they tried harder.
Script Review
Karaoke.
What, is she supposed to be a shaggy Father Time or something?
“firmament”? How deep. I’m fine with that, but do tell me what the symbolism of “grey eyes” is supposed to be and why you thought anyone would get what you were going for here.
Main Script.
I’m all about this phrasing. Wasn’t as big a fan of Underwater’s “You think you can make a move on Ryuuko, Kantou Vagabond and Guitar Case Drifter?” line. So, thumbs up on not editing this away.
For those thinking this phrasing looks a mite stupid, you’re right, but when spoken aloud it sounds just perfect for the kind of tone she’s using. I like it.
That’s nice, but it makes no sense. If you’re gonna pun, pun right. Try something like Underwater’s “cuz he’s a greedy guts”.
Thank you for giving me a chance to stroke my beard quizically, Commie. It is one of the few true pleasures a man has in life.
I do believe the word you were looking for was “clothing”.
It would be either “The raised collars come” or “The raised collar comes”. I’d go with the former.
Why is “spec” uncapitalized? I don’t particularly care about the gibberish name, since I think most of this show’s terminology should be taken in stride, but this stands out.
Like I said in Underwater’s review, “get-up” would be a more appropriate term. It’s not much of an issue, though. More of a suggestion.
Not feeling the tense. It’s not wrong, but it’s not right. Sorta like getting date raped when you planned to sleep with them anyway.
“that power will manifest itself.”
I went over this in the previous review so if you want a more detailed explanation, read the Underwater review. But basically, the issue here is the joke fails.
Changing “screw off” to “bite me” would allow for a joke to be made off the “masochistic” bit of tennis club captain-chan’s insult.
Winning with friendship and winning at friendship are different things. “at” is the correct version, so match the first line with the second.
No worries, though, Commie. You’ll always win at Engrish in my heart. <3
always…always
Never. Change the second always to “ever” for an easy fix.
This is both redundant and logically questionable. Drop the exercise bit.
“I’m going to use you to loosen up for the Hokkaido series!”
And I’s is Dark_Sage’s disappointment.
I dunno, ask me in English and I might have an answer.
“Are you the woman who holds the other Scissor Blade?”
Pretty sure the general badass phrase is “ask the question again with your blade!”

I’d just stick with Underwater.
Next up for Kill la Kill is Watashi… Not sure which ep of theirs I’ll review, but I’ll get to it sometime. I think I’ll be skipping the Kill la Kill TL Party v2 unless you all really want it.
I’d go with episode two unless you’re feeling particularly vicious.
I don’t exactly do episode requests. But if you’re worried about episode 1, I don’t review those.
Forgive me I’m illiterate.
It’s a common question. Don’t worry about it.
I actually don’t have the policy anywhere convenient… lemme put it in the queue.
I mean I thought the choice was between one and two lol
We know that the killer, who wielded the other Scissor Blade, wears a skirt.

The dialogue also says 女.
Noted. Thanks.
At least herkz didn’t ‘edit’ it.
Which, based on the recent list of Commie failsubs, is why this one even made it to review.
Is this typesetting a joke? At least that’s what came to my mind when I saw the pictures.
It has to be. Even plain old {\an8} would look better than what they’ve done.
is the tracking for the sign the same as episode 1? because that was just a \move tag from what I seen.
