Actually, someone wanted to edit my scripts, but after looking at the schedules of both teams, we gave up. When I’m awake, they’re asleep, there goes my editors…
I dunno about that being a problem. Over in the ru-sub community I work on a “translate while the editor is asleep or at work, edit while the translator is asleep, merge in the one hour both are awake” schedule. Works out fine.
I watched the CR version too, so ended up with them winning out (or horriblesubs, if you’d rather). But while doing this, I realised that the scribbles version is only a light edit of the CR script, with a lot of the lines staying either the same or only a slight word change. Just thought it worth pointing out, though I guess it doesn’t really make much difference now that original TLs like Doutei’s are a rarity.
Huh, I didn’t know Doutei did an original TL. I mean, it seems plenty competent and overall better than the HS script, but I thought it was just a good editor. Didn’t think anyone would bother putting effort into a simulcasted show anymore.

For HorribleSubs vs scribbles… The scribbles release is a Crunchyroll edit, so you’re getting the same base translation, with the benefits of the original lines being edited (ideally) to make them better. You also get the standard fansub benefits of chapters/typesetting/karaoke that you won’t get with HorribleSubs. It’s a pretty clear-cut choice for you in this case.

For me, all of them are bad, I think. Some are too formal and other too imformal for the situations, and most all of them are not contextualized.
