    • Someone’s mad.
Technically, it’s made by ONE asshole which is Dark_Sage.

Also plz don’t use Jesus’ name like that. It’s very offensive. We fansubbers have feelings too, you know?

        • Talk to Dark_sage about your feelings he’s the one who claims your fan-subbing skills suck ass. This is a website sending out a message that everybody sucks taking everybody’s hard work for granted.

              • So, your argument is that people shouldn’t have an opinion on the quality of something because you can get it for “free” ? So, I take it you’ve never said a bad word about any show you’ve ever watched a broadcast of? Those are technically free. What about a drinking fountain with filthy tap water? Would you drink it and say that it’s acceptable simply because it’s free?

Having reviews of fansubs is a way of telling others which subs are of the best quality and encouraging people to download those. Additionally, the subs that are of the best quality generally take more effort to produce, so in the long run, this site gets the people who do the best work some additional downloads, making the others who don’t work as hard get fewer, hopefully resulting in the other groups putting in more effort the next time. So, if anything, these reviews ENCOURAGE hard work.

In other words, both of the arguments you just tried to make are invalid.

                • And how exactly would you know how hard they work or if your shit talking encourages them or not? Less mistakes doesn’t mean one group worked harder than the other. These guys aren’t professionals they’re doing this as a hobby or their desire to help out the anime community of course there will be mistakes. And FYI you are not entitled/obligated to perfect FREE subs just so you know, but as a human being you are entitled to clean drinking water so your water fountain argument is INVALID. Also There is a difference between simple opinions and biased hate posts on how the subbing that people do for FREE and in their own spare time isn’t good enough. Which makes your opinions and TV broadcasts argument INVALID. My arguments are very much valid sir.

In other words, everything you just typed contradicts itself and makes you look like an idiot.

                  • Lol. You’re retarded, as if shit talking does anything to people on the internet. This includes Fansubbers. I work for a group and Idgaf if people shit talk, and yet here, you’re talking as if you know the place. You’re just some leecher. Stop acting like some tough guy that thinks the Internet is a place where people can’t criticize each others’ work.

With that, I’m done. I’ve wasted enough braincells on you.

Fansubbers not only often post on this site and say that the posts made them realize that they either need a better team, or request a V2 to fix mistakes before reviews. If their subs review better, this site’s readers are more likely to download them.

“Less mistakes doesn’t mean one group worked harder than the other.”

Many mistakes can be fixed by simply having someone simply proofread the script. A script with a lot of mistakes means that the group either didn’t have anyone proofread them, didn’t take the time to check themselves, or didn’t bother to find someone who could which demonstrates a lack of effort.

“And FYI you are not entitled/obligated to perfect FREE subs just so you know, but as a human being you are entitled to clean drinking water so your water fountain argument is INVALID.”

Tell that to anyone living in a country where the drinking water is terrible and they’ll laugh at you.

“Also There is a difference between simple opinions and biased hate posts on how the subbing that people do for FREE and in their own spare time isn’t good enough. ”

They’re both opinions, though, so that’s merely a distinction without a difference. Also, the posts on this site may be snarky, but they’re generally meant to be humorous as well as informative, so they don’t qualify as “hate posts.”

Yea but how do you know that drive that made them do a V2 or get a better team is from feelings of encouragement? They could have had their feelings hurt and didn’t like people saying bad things about their work or feelings of annoyance. Stop talking as if you’re some kind of physic that knows exactly how they feel not everybody is like you.

“A script with a lot of mistakes means that the group either didn’t have anyone proofread them, didn’t take the time to check themselves, or didn’t bother to find someone who could which demonstrates a lack of effort.”

Sometimes there are amateur fan subgroups that work harder than anybody else but their subs still aren’t as good as groups with more experience because they lack the skills and resources to produce A+ quality.

“Tell that to anyone living in a country where the drinking water is terrible and they’ll laugh at you.”

How would you know they’d laugh at me if I told them what their rights are as humans beings? Maybe they’d strive for a better future and protest to their government for better water. You keep acting as if you can predict what people will do and what people will feel just stop.

                    • Seriously? Your counterargument is “you can’t say that because you’re not psychic.” Cute.

                      Onward, then.

“Yea but how do you know that drive that made them do a V2 or get a better team is from feelings of encouragement? Boo-fucking-hoo. If they were that offended then they’d probably stop frequenting the site and if they ARE that offended, it’d be their fault for going out of their way to read something that offends them.

“Sometimes there are amateur fan subgroups that work harder than anybody else but their subs still aren’t as good as groups with more experience because they lack the skills and resources to produce A+ quality. ”

Fansubs are meant to be seen by people. If they’re simply incapable of putting out decent content they should be prepared for criticism. You seem to be saying that criticism in-and-of-itself is a bad thing.

“How would you know they’d laugh at me if I told them what their rights are as humans beings? Maybe they’d strive for a better future and protest to their government for better water. You keep acting as if you can predict what people will do and what people will feel just stop.”

Have you ever talked to someone from an unfortunate country? They’re often surprised at the amount of importance that luckier people place in things that they’re used to being much worse. Now you’re saying that you alone could have the ability to inspire a demand for change in a person, as if the thought couldn’t have occurred to them without you. Also, you ask how I’d know how they respond and then immediately state a much less plausible prediction, yet you’re the one who keeps throwing around the whole psychic thing. Good job.

                    • vincefriend, I don’t know why you’re so upset

I do shit work for a shitty mid-tier group and I think that d_s is an awful hypocritical person, and I don’t listen too much to his “advice” (although admittedly some things he says are helpful and have led me to make improvements!).

but just because he’s a terrible person, doesn’t mean you need to get so emotionally involved!

just like, ignore his shit, y’know? there will always be assholes in the world, and whining about their whining isn’t going to help anyone with anything. you’ll get mad, they’ll get mad, no one likes that.

move on. if you really feel strongly about it, start doing whatever the asshole is doing better than the asshole, and in a non-assholish way. you’ll be more popular in the long run, i promise. (if you can do a legitimately better job)

                    • Vince, I’m afraid you have a number of misconceptions here about this site and fansubbing in general. Let me rectify these for you:

                      1) Most of the visitors to this site are fansubbers, because heck, we like to know what’s going on with the competition. And if we can toot our own horns in the process, all the better.

                      2) Fansubbers are elitist jerks. We always have been (ever since I can remember), always will be. If there’s weakness in our rival groups, we exploit it and go in for the kill. And to be honest, this site is tame compared to the flat out trolling out yesteryear – and all the groups were at it, pretty much.

                      3) If your amateur subgroup doesn’t produce the goods, they might as well not produce subs at all, because let’s face it, with simulcasts pretty much blowing every fansub group out of the water to start with, there will always be a better alternative. So what’s the need for them to fansub?

                      4) If individual fansubbers don’t like it, they’re free not to visit this site. I believe most of Commie have taken this route :D

                      5) Fansubbers really don’t need their leechers standing up for them, no matter how amusing it is.

                    • That ‘out’ after trolling should read “of”. That’ll teach me for not proofreading my own posts :D

Oh and an exception I should add to point number 3 (because it’s also a shameless plug): Of course, this only applies to the weekly releases that D_S deals with. There are plenty of other fansub groups out there subbing for the pleasure of it and doing projects no other group is doing (like all of Saizen’s wonderful series), so they justify their existence through those means (though most of us have A+ editing which is clearly why D_S doesn’t review our shows ;).

    • Not sure if troll or just really dumb…

We are not in kindergarten anymore, where you get complimented regardless of the quality of your work. Free or not, people will always criticize everything, get used to it. The other option would be to simply stop providing your hard work if it pisses you off so much that somebody points out mistakes while being a bit sarcastic.

    • If keyboards were never invented, I do suppose I would have had to go that route.

Probably best for everyone’s sake that I don’t get to play with organs and knives though.
