I put it on reddit, but it was downvoted within minutes and thus never got a chance to appear on the main page. Perhaps I should have chosen a better name for the link, I think it is difficult for many users to grasp humor if it isn’t stated directly. In any case, I think you just came on too strong for your first reddit offering.
The mods didn’t hide it, once a post passes a certain threshold of negative karma it becomes hidden. You can actually change that threshold in your preferences.
I found out the same way you did, made a post, got downvoted, messaged the mods and modified my downvote settings.
Feels just like usual. Also, mods are hardly the pied pipers, considering they often as much don’t get to lead anyone, and how often people tell them they’re doing terrible job and the sub-reddit is going to hell. This is true for almost every sub-reddit I’ve seen, from as far back as when Starcraft 2 was at its peak, to the League of Legends sub, and so on and so forth.

What the fuck people actually take Nisekoi seriously? I thought that series was pretty much a guide on how to absolutely fuck up any plot you might have had, and then ignore it for 50 chapters.
If /a/ really is the best anime community on the internet, that’s a little depressing. I mean, it’s better than any I can think of off the top of my head, but I still can’t bring myself to call it ‘good’. I could go with ‘not shit’.
There has to be something better. Some little forum or irc channel hidden away somewhere, where a few dozen bro-tier enlightened otaku are happily chewing the fat. That has to exist, right? Right?
/a/ is really only worth visiting if you’re still in high school. The amount of astroturfing and sheer stupidity of the userbase makes it rival r/anime/ for the most godforsaken anime community on the internets. Not to mention their complete irrelevance these days.
How many people do you think actually go there? Cuz I have stats from when threads are made about Crymore. This, as an example, managed an increase of 50 hits to my Monster thread on the day it was posted. http://archive.foolz.us/a/thread/79811237/ Hell, even 5 minutes on reddit gives better numbers. (Now as to whether or not those hits are bots or not, I’m not entirely certain yet.)
As far as I can tell, the only people that still care about /a/ are fansubbers, and we all know how out of the loop they are.
If you’re looking for a standard place where anime fans gather, you’re not really gonna find one. Beyond corporate sites like AnimeNewsNetwork or MyAnimeList, everyone’s on social media like Twitter or Tumblr. You might find ghettoes of “enlightened” fans somewhere, but I don’t think such places have much longevity.
Do fansubbers even go to /a/ anymore? Mind you, I’ve never gone onto /a/ for more than five minutes at any time during my whole anime-watching/-subbing era, because that much dross in one place can liquefy your brain. I’ve heard more mature playground chatter than what goes on in there.
I think rizon has always been the best place to chat about anime or fansubs – as long as you steer clear of chans like gg and commie where only the trolls come out to play >.>

Fans said they like honorifics and scripts that aren’t silly. Daiz turned up to tell them why they’re wrong to like those things. I think the thread eventually peterered out into ‘weeb’ vs ‘pleb’ ping-pong.
I like the GameFAQs Anime and Manga: Other Titles forum. Couple reasons why:
1. People like to watch all the new shows airing in any particular season. You won’t see many of those types that watch 1 or 2 new shows (the ones that got the most pre-season hype) and then assume nothing else is worth watching.
2. The board moves slower than most of the other “big” anime forums. That means less time wasted on forums and more time to enjoy your favorite anime.
I positively love how you’ve rebranded having a small/inactive community as a good thing. I think you’re best bet, then, would be to simply not go to any forums at all. Cause, you know. More time to enjoy your favorite anime.

The whole point of going to an anime board is to discuss your favorite anime. If i’m going to watch 20 new shows each season, I wouldn’t want to shift my way through 200 posts for each of them. ~30 posts per discussion topic is more than enough.
