Translation
Karaoke.
OP. Nice effort for this group. Picked this particular lyric since they were the only ones who TLed it the way I would.
ED. Translation was fine, but some lines, like this, make me want to take Dark Sage’s beer and drive home drunk.
Main Script.
Not sure what part of her original line in Japanese would require that concluding colloquialism.
Actually it should be “teapot,” but the next scene requires this particular translation.
“…and liked it.”
Would have been great if those days were translated. Also, it’s butsumetsu (very unlucky day).
“Ball sports meet” sounds like a total direct Japanese translation, but since there’s really no clean alternative to kyuugi taikai (ball tourneys?) you’re pretty much stuck with it.
And this is the Yoda-sounding line that came after the last screen.
“Hurray! Hurray!”
Did they hear ubawarechatta or yobarechatta? Line works either way.
Nope, joke didn’t work (for those keeping count, Kaede here was commenting on how yuzutte and Yuzu-chan in the previous line sounded the same).
“Harupoppo” can never be localized /人◕‿‿◕人\
“These three years are all you have.” I would assume they can try for a cheer squad next year and the year after.
Like I said in the last review, oyakusoku isn’t supposed to be promises, it’s supposed to be “running gags” or “tropes.”
“I wonder if it’ll fit you…” says top-heavy Haruka to the waifish Yuu.
Fushigi can also mean “magical.”
They adapted the homophones joke (hana 鼻 versus hana 花) and turned Yuu into a total ditz. Me like :)
Other Observations
Seriously, there are like no guys at this school.
Why does that apostrophe look so weird? What if I fiddle around with the text encoding?
Okay, now it looks less weird.
Change it from 15 pixels to 7 pixels from the bottom.
I remember when I thought “alright” was perfectly all right. Damn you fansub editors…
Picking up tricks from Commie, I see. How long before we see this insanity again in our fansubs?
… no.
No /clip \clip? ;_;
One of these things aren’t like the other…
I almost counted this line as a TL mistake, because it was so shit.
This wasn’t motion tracked.
Final Grade: A-
It’s the episode title that kept this release from receiving a perfect A grade. So in comparing all the releases for this series, Crunchyroll and Lazy Lily were the most accurate, while Kaylith had the most interesting script. However, there aren’t any groups that totally dropped the ball on this series, and the competition was indeed close, so I should commend everyone for their serious effort.

Today is the 26th so I guess you’re in the clear…
Ba-zing.
BAZINGA!!!!!!!!1
Gureeto Majingaaah!
[Joke officially went too far]
Thank you. Except we actually take less than 48 hours to release an ep…
You’re right, you did get it in less than 2 hours within that deadline, fixed.
Thank you, man. And good catch on the title. I completely forgot about yakusoku having another meaning…
Well, maybe the translation’s fine, but it really looks like it needs some heavy QC love before I’d go recommending it to anyone.
Well, they *are* a speedsub group ┐( ̄ー ̄)┌
Do you plan to review something else this season?
…maybe.
Psst override tags use the other slash\\\\ also fuck clipping, it’s a pain in the ass ._.
It would ONLY take 8-9 frames per “thump”
*says guy currently dragging his feet on a couple of similarly pain-in-the-ass signs*
More of a pain in the ass than: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/28522323/%5B10bit%5Dnourin06-nochapters%5B8135-8434%5D.mp4 ?
terrifying
*gives a long blank stare*
That reminds me, I have to do a Nourin review…
Go go go
You just want him to go because then he could fill in for your laziness!
You know me all too well, Ryuk-kun-chan.
Oh? All of the groups? :3
You’re fucked.
>I would assume they can try for a cheer squad next year and the year after.
At least based on the manga, their school is undergoing rapid down sizing. The “sports ball” bit is itself a cutdown of a standard sports festival since the overall school size is already shrinking and funding is at a minimum, that’s why they had to specially request that cheer squad thing in the first place. Since no one new is coming in it’s not unreasonable to assume that it’s either this year or never, the money isn’t going to pick up going forward.
They can take up a donation :p
As a little fun fact, in the honorifics track of episode 7, we made sure to follow the lead of others by using Otou-sama and Okaa-sama in a pleasing symmetry with the often-used Onii-chan and Onee-chan. People seem to prefer it that way, so it really was a matter of course.
So the honorifics track really IS a troll track :3
When did “Onii-chan” and “Onee-chan” become widespread enough to be considered acceptable?
With the flood of brother x sister shows perhaps?
>Thinks we fagsub for a wider audience
Oh you…
When it started having untranslatable aspects.
In what universe?
In the moeverse
What’s with the Subgroup “Kokona-Speed” ?
A whole lot of bad.
