If you already saw the first episode and thought the show was pretty stupid…

And I can see why you would.

…I can assure you that this shit tree’s roots go even deeper.

Because you missed out on what these enemies looked like.
Because you missed out on all of this retardage. Yeah, that black thing is the main enemy in the series.

See, the main plot of the story is a bunch of humans get injected with bug DNA to fight giant cockroach people on Mars. And the cockroach people are humanity’s ancestors or something.

Combine that mess with the anime’s poor pacing and I can safely say that if you’re still interested, you’re probably on a watch list somewhere.

Gundam Reconguista in G

Reconguista would be considered low budget even by 1960s standards.

The intro averaged five frames per second.

But combine that with pacing and character interactions that make even Muslims look progressive, and you have something that feels out of place in this universal century.

Yes, the girls are the only ones that get beaten in this show.
Cheerleaders
And yes, you inferred correctly, these girls are on this ship *solely* to cheer on the space cadets, who are exclusively male, cuz that’s just how the future is.

There’s a reason people hate anime, and other than the pedo magnets, garbage like this is why. Fuck Reconguista.

Denki-gai no Honya-san

I gave the episode 6 minutes before I had to shut it off. Denki-gai has nothing going for it. Nothing.

The designs aren’t cute, the character interactions aren’t entertaining, and the setup makes me wish the abortion clinic had finished the job it started on the writer. There is nothing to redeem this show or justify your time investment in it.

Avoid it like anime fans.

Danna ga Nani wo Itteiru ka Wakaranai (I Can’t Understand What My Husband Is Saying)

One of the things I hate most about 4koma adaptations is that they take the four-panel setup and drag the jokes on for minutes, when they’re intended to be consumed in seconds. So anyone whose time has more value than a youtube “personality”‘s life would be far better served by just reading the manga.

But by firing off the jokes at a machine-gun pace, Danna Husbando dispenses with treating its audience like they’d even be rejected from an Ikea.

This would be a three-minute exchange in most adaptations.

Now, despite my hype here, it’s not a good show, but it’s… okay. Certainly not awful, which is about the best you can hope for this season.

Karen Senki is what RWBY would be if Monty Oum was actually Japanese.

I dunno, it’s only 10 minutes long. Watch it if you’re even slightly intrigued in a RWBY that doesn’t suck. I’m sure you’ve spent far longer refreshing Crymore in the hopes of new posts this week.

1st episode: Decently Watchable/10.

    Step it up, D_S. This season is going to be God tier: Fate Stay remake and Psycho Pass 2 alone make this season better than the last 4 or so seasons.

      • That anime doesn’t count, it was shit because DEEN fucked up. Hopefully ufotable will do a better job.

        Then again, if you are the type who likes series like SAO, maybe it doesn’t suit your taste. Give it a try regardless.

  3. Honestly, if anything, UBW will save the season, I enjoyed a lot of shows these past seasons but most of them were pretty bad and nothing really stood out.

  4. Log Horizon 2, Psycho Pass 2, Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works. These 3 series are gonna be great and will be this season’s best, of course.
