There are quite a few options for this show, so I figured you could use a TL Party.
Translation Party House Rules:
2. I split the Party into two parts — Essential and Extended. Assuming you want to get this shit over with quickly, just go with the Essential choices. I picked these to be the most representative lines in the releases. But if you’re one of those people who want more comparisons to help you come to a decision, go with the Essential choices and the Extended ones.
3. If you didn’t like any of the lines, choose the “N/A” option. The results for “N/A” won’t be automatically tabulated, so you’ll have to do the math in your head. Have my gomens and nasais.

To be fair, official-ness is how we ended up with Attack on Titan instead of a title that actually makes sense.
Slight difference is, that came from the anime studio/mangaka, not the official translation. Changing it would have been like changing a character’s name when the anime studio want it spelt a certain way.
Funimation actually did that, though, with Absolute Duo!

MC is named Tooru but it sounds like Tor, a character then made a joke about how he has the name of a god or whatever and he didn’t know what it meant (since his name is Tooru, not Tor) and she started calling him that but the subs already called him that, because fuck your joke, wasn’t even funny.
Thor, the god of lighting, is トール (“tooru/touru”) in Japanese, in case it wasn’t clear which god it was. Never seen the series though.
Just so it’s clear, his name is NOT spelled トール in the series！
Unfortunately, I think that’s an issue that crops up sometimes when overlocalising without being familiar with the source material (I’m not sure if Funi were or not, so guesswork on my part there). I’m surprised they tried to localise a name like Tooru though, because that’s a relatively common name in Japan, isn’t it?
So yeah, on first glance, that sounds like a Funi fuck-up due to not reading the source material in advance (I don’t even know if it’s out in English so maybe that’s an unfair demand) :D
