Better than Hatsuyuki at least.

Visual Review
Karaoke.
Opening. I don’t really know what they were going for with this. It’s kinda boring.
Rating: Okay.
Ending. IB inverted the credits’ colors for their karaoke. Works pretty damn well here. You miss out on the fun stuff Commie did with theirs, but that doesn’t make IB’s any less fitting and enjoyable.
Rating: Good.
Typesetting.
Why isn’t the bonus art subbed? ;_;
Script Review
Karaoke.
What is going on here?
Okay, I did act like this line was the end of the world in the Hatsuyuki review. But it’s not all that bad in IB’s. Actually works decently.
Main Script.
Your subs are foreign to me. Let’s try English next go-around, shall we?
No, that doesn’t match. Burn it down and try again.
“Letitia-sama is a pure-blooded vampire, and as such, is known as one of the ‘Knights of the Garden.'”
I know what you think you’re saying, but the “one’s” confuses the point (because it implies her owner is significant to her status as property, when it’s really her status as prize material/pedobait that makes her consider herself an object).
Drop it.
“I am merely property now.”
Too lengthy. Drop a few syllables.
“You cannot yet bear the weight of this community alone.”
IB, what are you doing? How are these supposed to be related?
Thousand Eyes is a coalition of Communities, not just one. That’s why it’s a bad idea to piss Thousand Eyes off.
I just chose one line here to highlight the annoying repetition in this release.
Back-to-back lines often reuse uncommon words awkwardly and a number of them start the same. Not terribly good writing, IB.
This makes it seem like it’s something they want to receive.
Terrible response. Try “Wait, no they aren’t, Asuka-san!”
Keeping the tense is more important in most religions than keeping the Sabbath. Come on.
“Of course, those beautiful legs would end up spread on my bed.”
Sound pretty bad, IB.
If they noticed they were in trouble, they would have offered help or their thoughts or something. Not make-up cookies. It’d be more accurate to say “They noticed you two were fighting.” (Like they had in CR’s release.)

I really like IB — their chan’s my only real hangout besides #Whine-Subs. But these guys need an editor or a QC or something.

It seems like the best bet for this series is just gonna end up being HoribleSubs
Well, it’s more like Commie > IB > HorribleSubs > Hatsuyuki. Most of the errors in Hatsuyuki’s release were in the HorribleSubs version as well (Hatsuyuki added some mistakes in, of course).
Unless commie’s really good it wouldn’t much matter because they’re all shit
The CR/HS script for this show is one of the worst I’ve seen in a long time.

English, motherfucker, do you speak it?
My guess is no, no they don’t.
Let me translate that bonus art for you.

We’ve been looking for a native English QC for a long, long time. If you know any that are looking for work, point them to me.
I’m fully aware of the stupid mistakes I sometimes make as an editor, and my scripts are often drastically different (quality wise) based on when I wrote them and how much I care about the show (also how stressful school is at the time). I really need a decent QC to round out IB. convex QC’d 1-4 and he’s a great subber in general, but our only other QC right now is Swedish and he isn’t very good, to be blunt.
TL;DR hiring native ‘murrican speaking QC who knows what they’re doing.
Hire D_S. For all your native needs.
I’d gladly help out. I’ll get on IB IRC when I’m not Valentining.
