Visual Review
Karaoke.
Opening. This kara is an abortion of color. Goddamn. I don’t understand why Commie used half the colors they did, nor do I want to. It’s like an orgasm of retarded excess.
Rating: Bad.
Ending. This would be a lot more enjoyable if I could read it.
Rating: Okay-.
Typesetting.
Yuck.
Well matched.
Looks like they’re still going with the non-joke “Maiden Recreation Club” even though by now they should know the name is supposed to be a play on words.
Oh my Jesus gods, this typesetting is terrible.
The show is more enjoyable when Commie doesn’t try than when they do.
Color matching!
Speaking of bad, holy shit.
I didn’t really like the typesetting in this release, but I assume that’s because the guy on it is new to the whole thing. I may not give pity points, but I will give a pointer: ask for advice from your fansubros when you need it. Most of these issues could have been dealt with if you had someone helping you out.
Script Review
Main Script.
Maybe you should check for consistency before you release.
Those last two screens need to phrased similarly.
“She run out on you?”
“She dead?”
This doesn’t fit. In Japanese there are three syllable she says. So if you’re going to be all cute with your font and phase in the syllables as she says a syllable, it better fucking match. “ivities” is not a syllable.
“Club project.” Three syllables, fits the intent. You’re good to go.
This is terrible. What the shit?
You’re confusing purpose.
It’s not that she can’t buy a complete set of JoJo’s — it’s that the club doesn’t have enough funds for it. She could certainly purchase it on her own (because she’s got mad money).
I cannot -> We cannot
“I can’t believe something could shake her this badly.”
Please, Commie.
Uff-da.
“I’m a third-year middle schooler at the Nenaka Private Academy for Girls.”
get -> got
This isn’t hard. Maybe you should hire native English speakers to edit your scripts.
round and around and around and around we go~
Really? Him yelling at her would be as effective as signing to a blind person that they need to get their sight checked.
“Hey, she’s drowning!”
“I know what it looks like,”
“but this is only CPR — we’re not kissing.”
Try “Is love all you guys can think about?”
You cannot be fucking serious.
“A-Anyway, it’s not like CPR counts as a kiss.”
This entire CPR thing was fucked up by Commie, Oni, and rori. Mezashite was the only one to get it right. I honestly have no clue how three groups could independently go full retard on this considering the intent here was so obvious.
You’re gonna want to capitalize the full title.
“Little Miss Chihuahua Burglar”
Results
Watchability: Watchable.
Visual grade: D+
Script grade: C+
Overall grade: C
I can’t recommend these subs when there are better choices around. Stick with rori.
Oh look, it’s going to be another angry Commie comment thread.
/Grabs popcorn.
Good idea~
I’ll bring the chairs.
Dibs on the big chair.
Thought you were going to go with vividred_butthurt.gif
I’m disappointed
I am intrigued. What is this .gif?
I think its from Two and a Half Men.
Oh, you meant the Vividred one. >.<
I haven’t seen it in gif form, but koku’s talking about this scene in episode 4, @4:21 when Aoi is complaining about how sore she is from training.

Geez, you’d think it’d gone viral by now.
>Uff-da. First off, “third-year” would be the noun. Secondly, no.
She would be a third year or a third-year student.
>This entire CPR thing was fucked up by Commie, Oni, and rori. Mezashite was the only one to get it right. I honestly have no clue how three groups could independently go full retard on this considering the intent here was so obvious.
I can’t speak for anyone else, but I took it as Eita saying that neither CPR nor kisses hold any meaning. You’re only touching lips. Before giving Masuzu CPR, he says something to that effect as well.
The triplefuckup might have something to do with all three being CR edits.
>Try “Get your minds out of the gutter.”
That implies naughty thoughts. All the standers-by were guilty of thinking was that CPR is a lot like kissing.
He’s been repeating this line about people always thinking of love (“love on the mind” from CR) throughout the show, in situations where ‘get your minds out of the gutter,” would be much less appropriate.
“third-year” would be both the adjective and the noun because with the noun the “student” bit is implied. At least, I think so. We wouldn’t really use “third-year” OR “third year” in American English, so I may be off here. The initial research I did didn’t pull much up.
Except you get from the subs that “CPR is the same as a kiss”. Which it isn’t. That would be fucking stupid.
Perhaps “minds out of the gutter” isn’t entirely appropriate then. “Is love all you guys can think about?” would be a better option. I’ll edit that in.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/First_year
This is the only thing I can find.
This and Harry Potter.
Hm, I learned something today.
The wiki page taken as a whole seems to point at “first year” (and subsequent upgrades in class) as being a term in common usage for only college/university. I would avoid this whole bag of hurt by… not using it on its own.
A note about the way it’s worded (“the middle school at the blah blah blah”): it’s kind of important, in that she’s implying that she goes to an elevator school (where you go directly from middle school to high school without taking an exam), which is something associated with generically upper-class people.
You lose some information in making it “I’m a third-year middle schooler at the Nenaka Private Academy for Girls.” Since you can’t really tell how privileged she is just by the private-ness of her school.
Well, I guess NRR won’t be doing a script review of this episode.
