Translation
Like in my other fanrip reviews, if I see any changes to the original script that actually add mistakes, you get an automatic fail. If there are no added mistakes, you pass. If you turn in a script that actually fixes mistakes and improves the script, you pass with high distinction.
Karaoke.
I was a fool expecting a crunchyrip group to at least arse themselves to add the OP and ED.
Main Script.
Everybody else had “Electra Complex.” These geniuses apparently didn’t really get what an Electra Complex is, at least according to the comments in this line:
{Father-con == Electra complex? Wtf?}{all this google TL, its also apparently a thing, google it}
So they weebed up the script and we get “faazaakon,” yay!
They didn’t like how Aniplex went with “Hum-dee-dum” and decided “Lun-lun-lun” is better.
As you all know, Aniplex original line for this scene is, “I’ll volunteer to throw out those sweats with a design so stupid a stupa would be better. Not to mention you probably bought it at a thrift shop.” The original Japanese was supposed to be “a design that would make a grave plank faint” but I could actually see where Aniplex was going with their adaptation, even if it’s still stupid. Node’s adaptation (1) doesn’t even sound halfway abusive as the original dialogue and (2) makes no goddamn sense anyway.
Other Observations
A crunchyrip group that actually keeps these non-overlapping overlapping lines. I never thought I’d see the day.
Final Grade: FAIL
I don’t mind them weebing up the script, but I’m not as gentle as a stupa when it comes to adding mistakes.
If it wasn’t for me HorribleSubs would keep those double lines with the “-‘s” ¬_¬
But now you’re transforming the group from “HorribleSubs” to “SlightlyPassableSubs”.
Dao saves fan’subbing’.
