Visual Review

Karaoke.

Opening. Interesting effect for the karaoke. It matched the theme of the OP’s credits very, very well.

Rating: Good.

Ending. Loved the script font and effect, but the color scheme… plz.

Rating: Okay+.

 

 

Typesetting.

This was typeset later on, but the sign is mysteriously missing here.

These dudes are a big part of the episode, so it was nice that Cthuko TL’d what they were saying. Cthuko didn’t get *everything* here, but I wouldn’t expect them to.

 

Do note the only typeset added here was “City bus”. Japan threw a number of English translations in.

I was impressed by the effort they put into typesetting all these signs.

 

 

Attack… Effects?

Well, I guess I should say “attack colors”, since the main text was merely color shifted depending on the attack.

I don’t have a problem with attack effects, so long as they aren’t annoying. These were pretty mild, so I’m fine with ’em.

 

Other.

It took Cthuko weeks to release this episode and they still couldn’t be bothered to watch their fucking episode before releasing it. Sasuga fansubbing.

 

 

Script Review

Main Script.

If you’re talking about judgment, the phrase you were looking for is “good judgment”. Here are some interesting stats I found while Google searching for phrase frequency:

“good judgment”: 2,160,000 results.

“proper judgment”: 121,000 results.

Night and day. But let’s see how it looks from the British perspective (where judgment is spelled “judgement”):

“good judgement”: 814,000 results.

“proper judgement”: 313,000 results.

“good” is again the best route, but it’s not as big a sweep as it is with “judgment”. Of course, phrase frequency cannot always be the determinant factor, but in this case, since I have a good handle on how people around me speak, it gave me enough backing to call this out with decent reasoning. And based on the British results, we can conclude the UK is worse at English than the US. Sasuga UK-kun.

Wrong. This prophecy is referring to Berg Katze shifting into a woman and running people over in a car. Therefore, it would be “a mass of iron”, not “masses of iron”.

Why did PaiPai switch from calling Berg Katze a “he” to an “it” here? The flip comes out of nowhere.

“Seems like”? The show makes it pretty clear that PaiPai knows all about that motherfucker. Not sure why Cthuko has them expressing any semblance of doubt as to the validity of his statement here, especially when the entire point of this section is exposition.

Poorly worded. “it” is supposed to refer to two different things in this sentence, but by reading it straight, that’s not clear.

Since you’re clearly confused, let me give you a hint: you shouldn’t take spelling advice from ska bands.

Well, that came out of nowhere. Crunchy cross-check time: “It’s all okay!”//”Liar.”

So, with Cthuko we get Hajime saying she’s fine and Utsutsu saying that Hajime’s lying about being fine. But with Crunchy, we get that Utsutsu’s rejecting Hajime’s attempt at cheering her up.

Much more liable to believe CR on this one, since their line fits the conversation that came before it perfectly (Hajime trying to spread her genki cheer to Utsutsu).

I finding that hard to believe.

Well, at least they’re emphatic about it.

Toyosu Station is the name of a place, so capitalize it. That’s how proper nouns work.

I’m not sure why you think “just as well” can be shortened solely to “as well”. That’s not how English works, no matter how hip and with it you think you are.

This was a pretty solid release overall. There were some roadbumps, but nothing to make you want to exit the car.

We’ll see how Commie did in comparison.
