ED. The interesting thing is that every other group thought they heard “Rambo-chan” in this line. It turned out that what they were actually hearing was nanbo jan, which basically means “isn’t this a whole lot of [fun],” so Commie should be commended for getting this line right way in the beginning. If there are any nitpicks, it’d probably be the fact they didn’t write out the first “bang, bang, hit.”

Chose not to translate the “hais” here for some reason.

She actually said shakin, which is a sound effect for slicing metal, or in Commie’s case “Dun dun dun!”

Which one has the gun in this scene?

I’m pretty sure “see the fear in their eyes” is not the same distance as the “zero centimeters” that was actually said in this line.

Similarly, this is “zero nanometers.”

They probably should have translated the “Hey, wait a minute!” that Sonora said right after this line, because it comes up later.

Mistook hooru for “hall” instead of “whole,” so this is supposed to be “So you eat whole cakes?” The subsequent line about Rento limiting herself to only one sugar cube per cup of tea is also fucked.

I have no blankety-blank idea what’s going on with this title translation. First of all, I like to know where they got the “phoenix” from. Yes, the title is kind of tricky since they replaced 燃ゆ (moyu, to burn) with the homonym  萌ゆ (to bud, get “moe”). But if I were to translate this title, it’d just be “Things Get Hot On The Island,” since I know Commie doesn’t like using the word “moe” in their subs.

 

Other Observations

Probably would have gone with “Watch your head!” or “Head down!” here.

 

Final Grade: A-

This release was teetering on the edge of becoming a B+, but I felt the script was strong enough for it to merit an “A” grade, plus they got bonus points for the songs.  I guess they should count themselves lucky I missed out on seeing some “dagnammits” in their next episode.
