Another example of how a literal translation isn’t very funny. I myself would take a cue from [Lazy Lily] and have Yuzu say, “So you’re saying you see her as a guy?”
Yoroshiku harorin!
This wordplay adapted by Crunchyroll made sense since they all begin with the same letter and share the same theme, just like in the original Japanese.
Why in official streams Yoda-talk I see?
Has anyone in living memory ever called the daisy-picking game “flower fortunes”? Anyone?
Ironically, “den” was pretty much already translated by the studio at the bottom.
And Crunchyroll couldn’t turn this line into a joke either. I suppose if you fired up your dictionaries, translated every word in もうカップとかいう次元じゃなかった, then tried to make it all fit together in a halfway-comprehensible line, this what you’ll get. Unfortunately, making this line work in English requires the translator NOT to have Aspergers Syndrome and think outside the cup box. If it were me, I would have went with, “The whole ‘cup noodle’ aspect never even entered her mind.”
Other Observations
Per usual the typesetting, timing, line splits, etc suck.
Final Grade: A-
All in all pretty good script. It would have been great if they haven’t fucked the dog in some spots.
Huh, who’d have thought.
That’s cool, they put the good guys on the Yuri show.
Good guys on Yuri show… Yep, almost every guy love Yuri…
Ugh-uh. Maybe otaku losers who can’t get pussies do, but I sure don’t.
Hey, stop eraaaasing me.
It’s fujoshi losers who can’t get pussies.
But guy on guy is hot. Don’t bash fujoshi like that, it makes me sad :(
Nothing wrong with a little BL no matter who you are.
Girl on girl is sacred, don’t use your mansplaining to erase my identity ;_;
(But, yes. If you say you don’t like any BL, you’re lying or retarded.)
In both your ST reviews, you’ve quoted the original ‘Yoroshiku harorin’ line from Kotone introducing herself. Any particular reason?
So people know what that weird dialogue comes from, because the Japanese version isn’t a traditional greeting.

Out of curiosity, is there any difference between koku’s translation reviews, and D_S’s fansub reviews? That’s to say, is the scope of the two reviews equivalent (since the opinions, standards, and style are obviously going to be different)?
Well, koku judges very heavily on TL, and ever so slightly on the way said TL is edited.
D_S judges the editing, and to a lesser extent TSing (to a point anyways, he’s not exactly a TSer himself), and QCing issues if they exist (with script, timing and dialogue).
koku reviews translation accuracy and DS reviews editing.
I don’t really want to spend too much time on the editing side of things. If the way the script is generally written is shit, I’ll just note it at the end.
Ah, that makes decent sense. I had originally thought that it was just them divvying up anime to review in the same way.
You should do Nisekoi reviews next… Koku
A bunch of pass/fail reviews you mean, lol
This shows that CR script has the best translation for this series. One of the other sub groups should just use CR script and modify a little.
Kaylith still left ヾ(๑╹◡╹๑)ノ
If CR wasn’t a day late, it would be a decent idea. Everyone but Lazy Lily releases before CR now.
ZOMG, a day late. Such a long time to wait~~~
I know right, tell that to the thousands of leechers who’ll download the worst shit imaginable for certain shows because shit’s faster.
Welcome to TV subbing, a huge waste of fucking time and effort. :)
People actually sometimes wait for HS. Can you believe it? I’m sure you can.
But sure, let’s go get Doki and we can all delay our releases for HS to come out so that we can see once and for all who gets the most downloads without a time element interfering. In fact, everyone should use fake release names as well and only find out who did it afterwards. That would make for a pretty interesting and unbiased thing as long as you make all the font styles identical.
You’d also have to standardize the OP/ED in case people remember those. And do something about how you can figure out which one Doki is by it not being on Nyaa.
Well you’d obviously remove those too, and make every single sign /an8 with the same style. The number of signs wouldn’t change, but you’d still get how they’re translated. Of course, that entirely misses the point of typesetting, but whatever. The encodes also need to have the same “parts” to them, like endcard and such.
