kokujin-kun may get in with translation reviews, though, because as far as I know he hasn’t placed any restrictions on himself.
Forgot these since the anime aren’t on the list at all:
[HorribleSubs] Inu to Hasami wa Tsukaiyou
[A-Destiny] Kingdom 2
[Commie] Senyuu. 2
[HorribleSubs] Senyuu. 2 (Shirt makes everything worse, so this is legit ;))
[FTW] Tamayura: More Aggressive (I think you said this isout-of-scope since the show’s boring?)
[Nishi-Taku] Tamayura: More Aggressive (I think you said this isout-of-scope since the show’s boring?)
I’m either blind or there really isn’t any Hadena release on that list. Would it be possible to include at least one, regardless of the show? Your Hadena reviews are the most hilarious ones I’ve seen in a long time and I can never get enough of those~
Since [Commie] Gin no Saji got disqualified and [Commie] Gatchaman Crowds has exactly the same staff (hint: only Herkz), can we expect another disqualification review?
Their 01 qualified for a review. Haven’t bothered with 02 (if it’s even out yet). Currently trying to see what the fuck I have to do today to get back on schedule since I lost the entire week to work.
She’s meant to be airheaded and annoying. It’s a way to make the viewer empathize with the character because the subs are even more annoying than she is.
Hey Dark_Sage. Are you going to start doing manga scan group comparisons/reviews? I help out shark0week0 by occasionally providing Viz versions or compiling the chapters from different groups.
Updated. I’m cutting out anything with under 10% of the vote and no competing groups. I presume nobody cares about those except for people who want to get off to my brilliant wit. And I have more than enough content coming up for that group.
Dropped:
[HorribleSubs] Fantasista Doll (4%, 51 Votes)
[HorribleSubs] Gifuu Doudou!! Kanetsugu to Keiji (1%, 10 Votes)
[HorribleSubs] Inu to Hasami wa Tsukaiyou (5%, 66 Votes)

[Hatsuyuki] Makai Ouji – Devils and Realist (5%, 63 Votes)

Should be able to throw up two Watamote reviews tonight. Commie and FTW’s posts would best be served by reviewing them in parallel, so if I wanna do one, I’m basically forced to do the other at the same time.
Until then, I’m going to be working (because although it doesn’t seem like it, I do have a full-time job) or playing Dragon’s Crown with my local crew. 4p couch co-op FTW.
I think I did a better job than Commie. (Even if that’s not too difficult, as they’re mostly only D-Tier.)
Commie’s subs are littered with slang, localisation, changed names and terms and dumb nicknames (like “Iffy” and “Nappy”, err, “Neppy”.)
I’ve removed all that, fixed the translation where it was too far off (especially for the songs), added kanji and romaji with karaoke for the songs and finally also fixed Commie’s poor timing (there were numerous instances where they totally failed to hit the keyframes.)
I’ve also placed plenty of comments in the script, which you can have a look at.
Anyway, thanks for the great reviews you always do!
I didn’t even know you were subbing this show. Does anyone else? Typically the fansub community revolves around Nyaa and TokyoTosho as the primary places to put their subs, so that’s where the most informed leechers would go for their subs. Self-promotion is important: having good subs alone and relying on word-of-mouth won’t get your release seen.
Also, DDL should only be used as a secondary method of sharing files. I don’t see any torrents for your release, which means when that DDL provider determined you’ve reached the max amount of downloads, people can’t get your subs. So always throw that shit up to torrents. If you’re not keen on torrents, contact me on IRC and I’ll set you up on my seedbox.
You also put “It’s asked too much” in like a million comments, wrote “Sure it is!” when you meant “It sure is!” and added an incorrect comma to line 258. Just so you know.
People generally don’t put spaces before em dashes, either.
I’ve never claimed that (not everyone is an arrogant fuck, but I understand this concept may be somewhat alien to you), but I apparently still know more than you, Shimapan-kun. Good job on the whole “keyframe failure” fiasco too, talking like you know shit about timing and then being proven wrong by a bunch of people. Keep the entertainment up.
Everybody makes typos, and it doesn’t matter in the comments, sure.
This was much more about pointing out the general attitude, especially if you’re using someone else’s script as base. If you have a beef with Commie, insulting them over using common conventions doesn’t seem like the best angle of attack.

Wow. Just wow. I do hope that guy’s not British (the whole z–>s change makes me suspicious) because otherwise I’m gonna have to go find him and kick him off my island. It’ll probably instantly raise the IQ of the UK by ten points.
Explains a lot. He doesn’t give off the air of being a native, and apparently doesn’t understand different punctuation styles in subbing (though admittedly I like end-line punctuation, I don’t think anyone who doesn’t have it is automatically Hadena-level :O).
Definitely a kraut, Mr. “I can time and edit better than a veteran fansubber” kraut.
Have you seen his profile pic?! It’s Kuroko Shirai! Who doesn’t like Kuroko Shirai?! She’s so muthafucking cute! Wait… Germans don’t like Kuroko Shirai? Well, sucks for them. They’re missing out on all the fun!
Shut your gob, chav.
If someone kicked you off the island, it’ll instantly raise the IQ of the UK by at least twenty points.
At the very least, someone should neuter all you chavs, so you don’t breed like rabbits anymore.
I’ll have to say, you insult is rather bland and boring.
I thought insults and swearing was the only thing you chavs are good at, but it’s obvious now that you can’t even do that. I pity you.
ChavDawn, I hope you’ve mastered the art of How Not To Be Seen, because otherwise…
There you go, best solution to get rid of chavs :D
*ChavDawn is blown up by a big explosion*
It’s like talking to a lobotomised chimpanzee. Oh well, you enjoy yourself in here, Herr Schwarz. I’m bored of making you look stupid (though you do it pretty well by yourself).
As I wrote on the About page (the “About PH” one, not the “About me” page), turning Commie-Subs into something watchable was the reason I started everything.
For the first three episodes, there was Mousou, producing at least bearable subs, but they became defunct. So I decided to pick up the banner, so to say, and started with ep. 4.
Hello, Captain Obvious!
Your reading comprehension is seriously lacking, isn’t it? (Well, if it wasn’t and you had at least half a brain, you probably wouldn’t be in a D-Tier crap group.)
It’s what I wrote in my post, as well as on the About page on my page.
If you had an at least half-way decent editor, there would be no need to clean up behind you.
You also should get yourself a timer that isn’t half-blind and doesn’t miss the keyframes half of the time.
Lookit there, this guy is that messed up already that he’s talking to himself now. Pitiful.
We already know that you’ve got no clue about translation, editing or timing, you don’t need to reaffirm it.
Actually, I’m just going to explain it here because watching you bluff in circles for another five posts probably won’t be that entertaining.
The purpose of scene timing is to snap to scene changes. Scene changes can usually be identified by keyframes assuming you encode your keyframes correctly, but not all keyframes are scene changes, and not all scene changes are keyframes. This is aptly demonstrated by the following “corrected” line from your release:
Dialogue: 0,0:03:07.01,0:03:09.71,Default,,0,0,0,,I wouldn’t be so sure. {Yet another keyframe failure}
This line was correctly snapped to the following scene change in the [Commie] release (which I noticed with some amusement that you renamed to [Rednecks] on your computer), but when you made your “fixes”, you chose to extend it past the scene change in question and snap it to a “fake” keyframe in the following scene, resulting in a scene bleed. So a line which previously disappeared with the scene change now remains awkwardly onscreen for around 300ms after it, distracting the viewer.
Please learn how to time before you criticise the timing of others, because I’ve seen you do nothing but make a massive fool of yourself in every post you’ve made on every site you’ve been to.
Let me tell you another secret, probably the one you don’t know.
Line should be snapped to scenechanges, which are not necessarily keyframes.
Keyframes are what are likely to be scenechanges according to encoder (as in x264 or Xvid). Most timers always use Xvid first pass log file as their keyframe base because most of the time it’s more accurate than x264’s.
Ergo, you fail at timing. Please actually read my post this time and understand that scene timing has an actual purpose behind it as opposed to being a fun game where the objective is to snap to all the purple lines for no particular reason.
Most of the keyframes your “corrected” version snapped to weren’t anywhere near scene changes, probably because you were dumb enough to use the inaccurate premux keyframes instead of making your own with scxvid.
Since you claim to be the best timer available, I decided to give your script timing pass. I’ll post results in a few hours since I’m preoccupied with other stuff at the moment. Look forward to it.
I never claimed to be the “best timer” or anything. I just snapped anything to the keyframes in Aegisub where Commie had failed to do so.
If you want, you can check back my script in Aegisub. All lines fixed have been commented accordingly (22 timing fixes in total).
You claim to be best timer available the very moment you refused to listen to other timers out there.
Overall out of 22 “fixes”, 12 of them are either errors or are simply redundant. If I were to grade your timing, that would be an immediate F. Add to that screwed up title, and you end up with F-.
Next time, don’t forget to load keyframes file. They make life simpler and exist for a reason. Here, I generated one for your Neptunia 05: http://www.mediafire.com/?a26j42u6i2iu3bz
Thanks.
Still, that means that 10 fixes (about half of them) were done right. Not too bad.
As relying exclusively on Aegisub’s keyframes (as I did with ep. 5) doesn’t seem to be such a good idea, I’ll use a key frame file now, starting with next ep.
How do you generate these keyframe files?
I don’t know whether these 10 fixes actually fixed stuff. I don’t have Commie’s release at hand, meaning I can’t check. But 12 mistakes are still way too much.
I have a script for geenrating keyframes. But I don’t use it for now since it eats at cpu, and I use my backup PC, which was bought in 2003 (meaning if I use it, it literally prevents me from using PC for at least 20 minutes). And it’s encoder’s responsibility to make keyframes.
(By the way, that mistake that Xythar pointed here: http://www.crymore.net/review_queue-summer-2013/comment-page-1/#comment-69185 was a legitimate mistake on your part. That means he was right.)
Could you upload that script somewhere? (With links to required programs.) I’ve got a relatively recent PC and could try it.
About that one line – okay, I’ll believe you. My bad.
what happened to the fixed comments?
>Still, that means that 10 fixes (about half of them) were done right. Not too bad.
Generally speaking, there’s no “right” here. For example, if a line begins 300ms after a scene change, it’s up to the timer whether they’d rather snap it (and have 300ms leadin) or not snap it and have a reasonable amount of leadin. When I time things I usually snap if the line begins less than 200ms after a scene change or ends less than 500ms before a scene change, but it’s largely a matter of personal preference on the timer’s part.
The only things I’d consider wrong are ending/starting the line very close to a scene change (like within a few frames) or extending a line past a scene change.
Also, here’s a guide to making scxvid keyframes like the ones archdeco posted:
It comes with a handy batch file that you can just drag and drop the video file on to in order to generate keyframes for it.
I dunno if you want to use it though seeing as how it was written by one of those Commie rednecks.
Oh noes, a redneck batch file! XD
I’ll take a look at it anyway. If even a redneck can use it, I can, too.
Well, I use 300/500 for lead-in/lead-out. As Xythar said, it’s a matter of personal preference.
This script is actually the newer version of the one I use, so I guarantee it’s good. Also, can you stop this rednek/chav bullshit?
My upload speed is bloody low, so doing torrents would be painful
File1 is one of the few decent hosters where even free users get full speed (and not a measly 50 KB/s like ul.to and co.), and who isn’t trigger happy with deleting files either, so no problems with people getting the files.
Xythar:
“Dialogue: 3,0:21:39.65,0:21:43.17,Default,,0,0,0,,…killed the monsters with a Hyper Magic Penetration!
合体 does not mean “penetration” here. Trust me.
“…killed the monsters with a hyper magic combination!””
Shimapan:
“合体 can very well mean “penetration” (or even “copulation”). Look it up on wwwjdic.
It fits fine here, as it makes the attack name sound even more outrageous.”
I fucking lost it. This sounds like Arashi arguing that his amalgonite translation was correct.
Shimpan is well known in the German fansub community. He’s running a subgroup called “Erokawaii” (and one called “Pantsu ga daisuki” but they’re apparently the same) and has been around for a long time now.
What makes him sorta “famous” is that he’s been sticking to the old German spelling (it has been revamped between 1996 and 2006 in case you didn’t know) and he even has a blog post on his site stating why the German spelling reform is so evil.
I… don’t know if I missed something, but is that the real Xythar posting again in this site or someone impersonating him? I just wanna know if the potential drama will be coming back or not.
Wanted to do FLag’s review tonight but it’s another shitty fucking release that I have to spend a disproportionate amount of time on with pointing out all the stupid fucking issues. So it’s delayed till tomorrow as I get some sleep.
For anyone on the fence at this very moment, Vivid’s release is the one you should go with. I’ll back that up when FLag’s review comes out.
If it’s any consolation, the problems I noticed are mainly the result of your TL and editor being dysfunctional. I wouldn’t expect a QC to be responsible for fixing them.
Will you(D_S or whoever) be linking to 8thsin’s translation reviews in the future?
Just asking because I noticed that was a thing previously and he has four translation scores / reviews and one translation analysis(comparison of Daisuki and Commie in-depth for Monogatari S2) up on his blog.
Well, he only has one review up for a series I don’t see myself talking about anymore. If he beats me to the punch on a show, sure, I’ll include a link to his site. I love 8th. But I’m not in the habit of editing old reviews for minor reasons, and I don’t plan to start now.
New posts rarely came on weekdays (monday-friday) in the past. The past 12 fansub reviews (not counting disqualification) have all been weekday posts. It’s funny how you’ve switched around your reviewing schedule this season.
First one, as i was explained it, is supposed to be an innuendo.
I tried to make the compulsory->obligatory switch but TL didnt like it because there was a play on words later in the episode where the preisdent is trying to say its that but can only say con- instead of compulsory. Take it or leave it, in my mind the difference between the two words in english is very slim.
Thanks for the quick feedback tho i was looking for a more overall review. Definitely editing has been one of our trouble areas so if thats all we missed, that’s a good sign.
When should we expect the Free! review?
Other than disqualification notices, I reserve first episodes for TL Parties, so you probably won’t be seeing any other than that Commie review (hopefully).
kokujin-kun may get in with translation reviews, though, because as far as I know he hasn’t placed any restrictions on himself.
You should ignore everything else and do Genei wo Kakeru Taiyo from Underwater (Somehow they’re alive) l0l.
Dark_Sage is a firm believer in democracy.
…until totalitarianism becomes more enjoyable. How kawaii is that shit?
Will you be reviewing Ro-Kyu-Bu! SS? The groups that are doing subbing it are Doremi, Doki and Asenshi.
You’ll get a TL Party for it, but no actual reviews unless I get really, really bored.
I despised the first season.
Second season’s no better. Too much service on little girls already.
You can add The World God Only Knows – Goddess Arc for Vivid and Anime-Koi
I’d like to see some review of Zen Sub’s Inu to Hasami.
First, because it’s an Indonesian fansub group doing English subs.
And second, because I always wished colon cancer upon D_S.
I went to their site and couldn’t understand a word. Didn’t waste the bandwidth on their release.
Missing:
[Commie] Gen’ei o Kakeru Taiyou
[IB] Kin’iro Mosaic
[Hatsuyuki] Makai Ouji – Devils and Realist
[EveTaku] Rozen Maiden (2013)
And [HorribleSubs] Watamote should be replaced with [Commie] Watamote.
Updated. Some notes:
No Senyuu cuz it’s continuing from last season. Don’t see a reason to waste a review slot on it.
No Kingdom cuz that shit is cancer.
No Tamayura, ever. Fuck that show.
Where are your usual reviews? Why only translation parties? I want my daily dose of your sarcasm.
Reviews are only made from episode 2 on. And since most shows only have one episode so far…
Skipped that, haven’t been around almost since Whiners.Pro died.
DS what are the chances of some monogatari season 2 reviews?
Imo an edit review for a monogateri should be joined by a translation review.
I’m either blind or there really isn’t any Hadena release on that list. Would it be possible to include at least one, regardless of the show? Your Hadena reviews are the most hilarious ones I’ve seen in a long time and I can never get enough of those~
D_S hope you can do a review of Katanako’s episode 2 for BroCon?
MFW D_S is slacking on his reviews. :3
Yeah yeah. That’s why I hired (without) pay the new guys.
minus [EveTaku] and [Asenshi] Rozen Maiden off the queue and plus [EveSenshi]
A week without updating the queue… ugh.
Tonight I Tosho.
Will you do translation review for Uchoten Kazoku?
Since [Commie] Gin no Saji got disqualified and [Commie] Gatchaman Crowds has exactly the same staff (hint: only Herkz), can we expect another disqualification review?
Cthuko = vale, go with them.
?
https://c.milkteafuzz.com/index.html#shows/51bb52b6493f6f79414101ec
Not seeing what you mean.
He’s talking about Cthuko, the fansubbing group (check Nyaa). vale is translating for them.
Makes sense. Thanks for letting me know.
Their 01 qualified for a review. Haven’t bothered with 02 (if it’s even out yet). Currently trying to see what the fuck I have to do today to get back on schedule since I lost the entire week to work.
02 checks out as well. Looks like herkz really tried on this one.
Herkz can effort? We all learned something new today.
Yup, you get top-tier subs. Take, for example, his translation of “itadakimasu”: http://www.crymore.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Commie-Gatchaman-Crowds-02-45FE1681.mkv_snapshot_04.41_2013.07.19_23.10.40.jpg
And everything that could be contracted was. http://www.crymore.net/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/Commie-Gatchaman-Crowds-02-45FE1681.mkv_snapshot_01.00_2013.07.19_23.12.46.jpg
He’s the best inbreditor fansubbing’s got.
Oh god. Q.Q.
Is that girl meant to be retarded?
Pretty sure it’s just projection.
She’s meant to be airheaded and annoying. It’s a way to make the viewer empathize with the character because the subs are even more annoying than she is.
Empathize = clicking that little x in the top right hand corner of the screen, right?
http://tokyotosho.info/details.php?id=676244
You know you want to, seiji.
They’re even looking forward into becoming legit subs ;p
They could be good, though. It’s a mystery!
All right, updated.
Gotta do 5.4 reviews per week to clear out this season’s queue. Good luck with that!
One review a day, keeps the Kamica away. :D
Nah. 0 reviews a day would do that job much more easily.
Reviews for Cthuko – Gatchaman Crowds and Katanako – Brother Conflict soon? Maybe Makai Ouji reviews too?
Consult the poll. It is a mystic force that shall answer all thine questions.
Any chance you’ll review Uchouten Kazoku?
Why don’t you check the queue and find out.
Hey Dark_Sage. Are you going to start doing manga scan group comparisons/reviews? I help out shark0week0 by occasionally providing Viz versions or compiling the chapters from different groups.
You could email me if you’d like to discuss.
I hardly have enough time for fansub reviews, so no.
hardly ==> don’t.
So… Next review when?
Missing [Doki] Fate Kaleid Liner Prisma Illya.
You have UTW and HS in the list! ( ¬‿¬)
Poll reset time. Looking forward to changing some of my votes (ex: not Blood Lad).
Seems like you’re missing:
[Hatsuyuki] Gin no Saji
[CMS] The World God Only Knows – Goddesses Arc
/r/ HS Kaiji S1 and S2 subs with the old releases from Triad and Nutbladder
[Commie] Senki Zesshou Symphogear G (5%, 62 Votes)
[Hatsuyuki] Makai Ouji – Devils and Realist (5%, 63 Votes)
[HorribleSubs] Kitakubu Katsudou Kiroku (2%, 29 Votes)
New poll up later today/tomorrow.
Nothing of value was lost. Symphogear’s subs are consistent with S1’s and those other shows are terrible.
You should do a TL vs. review of Kimi Machi done by LAG and KIMISUBS.
I mean, look at this: http://puu.sh/40uOp.jpg, http://puu.sh/40vbw.jpg , http://puu.sh/40vcd.jpg
Left: Kimisubs, and Right: Lag…
Well, at the very least I can tell you kimisubs had an editing error in screen 3. Question without a question mark.
Hi!
Could you please add my subs of “Choujigen Game Neptune” to your review queue?
http://purpleheartsubs.wordpress.com/2013/08/10/choujigen-game-neptune-05/
I think I did a better job than Commie. (Even if that’s not too difficult, as they’re mostly only D-Tier.)

It’s just a weeaboo edit of the Commie release.
http://diffchecker.com/uqfhta3s
Oh god, those comments are hilarious.
My favourite parts are the “translation fixes” on 222 and 240
what does むちむちしすぎ mean
what does 触手 mean
But, but…
“the concept of honorifics is too much to grasp for those pea-brined [sic] Commie rednecks.”
It’s asked too much of them to know.
Shame on me for having a typo in the comments, turning “brained” into “brined”. You must be really bored to point that out.
You also put “It’s asked too much” in like a million comments, wrote “Sure it is!” when you meant “It sure is!” and added an incorrect comma to line 258. Just so you know.
People generally don’t put spaces before em dashes, either.
If you don’t know what “to ask too much of somebody” means, here’s the entry from the Collins Thesaurus:
http://dictionary.reverso.net/english-synonyms/to%20ask%20too%20much%20of%20sb
“Sure it is”:
http://www.memecenter.com/fun/1025314/sure-it-is
Line 258 in Aegisub is about the Blanc manjuu. There’s no comma. Timecode?
The only case where you *don’t* put a space before an em dash is when the word before it is incomplete. Otherwise you *do* put a space before it.
I didn’t say “ask too much”.
Thank you for proving my statement re: “sure it is” wrong using esteemed language reference “MemeCenter”. I withdraw my criticism.
Hint: The line to which you incorrectly added a comma is also the only line to which you added a comma. 21:27.
Except “It’s asked too much of…” is not how you use that expression, at all. Fuck, it makes my eyes hurt.
So a Spaniard like you knows all about the English language? Hear, hear!
You’re profile pic is cute~
Sparky forever. <3
Shimapan, really now. We were making such progress and you weren’t using those stars for emphasis anymore. I had such high hopes.
You really should drop this stupid “Shimapan” nonsense (you and the other Commie guy, Xythar).
It just sounds as if you had a bad case of persecution mania.
“Oh noes, someone is criticising our subs! That must be that Shimapan guy again!”
I’ve got no idea what that Shimapan did to you, but it seems to have made a lasting impression, causing you to develop this persecution mania.
Whatever you say, sauerkraut.
Everybody makes typos, and it doesn’t matter in the comments, sure.
This was much more about pointing out the general attitude, especially if you’re using someone else’s script as base. If you have a beef with Commie, insulting them over using common conventions doesn’t seem like the best angle of attack.
Also, it was a deliberate set-up to allow somebody else to quote the “it’s asked too much” part.
Wow. Just wow. I do hope that guy’s not British (the whole z–>s change makes me suspicious) because otherwise I’m gonna have to go find him and kick him off my island. It’ll probably instantly raise the IQ of the UK by ten points.
He’s German.
Explains a lot. He doesn’t give off the air of being a native, and apparently doesn’t understand different punctuation styles in subbing (though admittedly I like end-line punctuation, I don’t think anyone who doesn’t have it is automatically Hadena-level :O).
Oh well. Some weeaboos can’t be helped, eh?
Careful, son. The last one who called me a Kraut didn’t live long enough to tell the tale.
Oh my god, I’m dying here.
Of laughter, that is.
I know, right? He’s adorable. Can we keep him?
Unfortunately, much as I would like to, we might worsen his neurological deficits. :/
You’re an eisbein.
You’re a baumkuchen!
ur a kraut
Definitely a kraut
I won’t tolerate any insults from someone with the English skills of a three-year-old.
That also goes for you, Mr. “You’re profile pic is cute~” Ryuk.
kraut
Gentlemen, please.
The word is “nutzi”.
Only it’s not Kuroko; it’s Misaka Mikoto.
Oh shit. Yeah… Wrong girl… Same hair color. They almost look the same too. Hehe.
>Mr
ftfy {removed American junk}
Shut your gob, chav.
If someone kicked you off the island, it’ll instantly raise the IQ of the UK by at least twenty points.
At the very least, someone should neuter all you chavs, so you don’t breed like rabbits anymore.
Love ya bra. <3
>bra
>not brah
I’m afraid I’m not a tranny like you, so I don’t wear any bras.
Never said you were a tranny, I just said that you had a nice bra. Pink and lacey is always nice.
Well-thought out insult there. Kudos on its originality :|
So were you dropped on your head as a child or were you born stupid?
I’ll have to say, you insult is rather bland and boring.
I thought insults and swearing was the only thing you chavs are good at, but it’s obvious now that you can’t even do that. I pity you.
Oh, I get it. You’re a troll and it was a troll release. D_S doesn’t review troll releases so you might as well save your breath.
Btw, learn what a chav actually is, kthxbye.
You sound pretty butt-hurt to me.
Oh noes, I hurt the feelings of a chav!
Hey, I’ve even got a pic of you and your chav friends!
http://imgbox.com/acn0goVw
Which one is you? I bet the one on the very right with that cross necklace.
Ah, he knows what a chav is. Exciting. However, you’ll find that most British fansubbers look like this:
http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_ceAgdFpangY/StzN0iYmb_I/AAAAAAAAAi0/UDB3PDzy7kQ/s320/JohnCleeseSillyWalk.jpg
And yes, we do all walk like that.
Btw, which one is you in this photo:
http://ayay.co.uk/backgrounds/historical/nazi_third_reich/hitler-with-goering-goebbels-and-himmler-in-full-nazi-uniform.jpg
I bet you’re the dandy in white, aren’t you? ;)
I’m bored of making you look stupid (though you do it pretty well by yourself).
http://purpleheartsubs.wordpress.com/about-me/
The whole website looks like its build especially for Commie-correcting subs. :D
Stating the obvious must be really fun! :D
Yes, you did.
:)
Yes, I’m aware that you have no idea how to correctly translate, edit, or time. You don’t need to drive the point home with every post you make.
Lookit there, this guy is that messed up already that he’s talking to himself now. Pitiful.
We already know that you’ve got no clue about translation, editing or timing, you don’t need to reaffirm it.
For starters, look up what a “keyframe” is.
There’s a good reason you’re only a D-Tier group.
And there’s a good reason that you clearly don’t know how to time.
Let me know when you figure it out.
Dialogue: 0,0:03:07.01,0:03:09.71,Default,,0,0,0,,I wouldn’t be so sure. {Yet another keyframe failure}
Glorious.
Certainly you can’t deny this esteemed nutzi gentleman a review, D_S?
Here’s a screenshot of Aegisub showing that the line in question is properly timed to the keyframe in my subs:
http://imgbox.com/acbpNTaD
I’ll tell you a secret: keyframes are the pink lines you see in Aegisub’s audio window. (You *do* know what Aegisub is, do you?)
This isn’t the only line. There are still 21 other keyframe failures left in your subs. Do you want to try to weasel your way out of all these?
Let me tell you another secret, probably the one you don’t know.
Line should be snapped to scenechanges, which are not necessarily keyframes.
Keyframes are what are likely to be scenechanges according to encoder (as in x264 or Xvid). Most timers always use Xvid first pass log file as their keyframe base because most of the time it’s more accurate than x264’s.
And here are two consecutive frames during that line:
http://i.imgur.com/33hEjQ3.jpg
Ergo, you fail at timing. Please actually read my post this time and understand that scene timing has an actual purpose behind it as opposed to being a fun game where the objective is to snap to all the purple lines for no particular reason.
Most of the keyframes your “corrected” version snapped to weren’t anywhere near scene changes, probably because you were dumb enough to use the inaccurate premux keyframes instead of making your own with scxvid.
Styling genius! Man, I wish I could style at that level.
Oh, I get it. This is a joke, right?
Funny, actually had me for a while.
As promised: http://pastebin.com/RSRG8cSQ
Also, here’s a guide to making scxvid keyframes like the ones archdeco posted:
http://unanimated.xtreemhost.com/scxvid.htm
Hey, Shimapan. Did you manage to learn English and/or Japanese yet? Even one of the two would be an improvement.
(For those unaware of the history behind this, the following thread might be good for a few laughs)
http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=cmt&id=46409&page=2#c330525
get out
That actually was funny. Him being german brings great shame to my country though.
lol. the guy cares more about taking potshots at Commie than doing an actual legitimate release. good shit
Thanks for the link, this Kraut is hilarious XD
He just got even more hilarious.
zing!
Idk what you’re trying to achieve, but whatever is, stop. It’s not working.
Gotta say, you managed to make me root for commie. That’s a pretty impressive feat.
Yes. Tell me more about this fansub innovator. Oh, and please god, tell me a full review of this gemsub is coming forth NOW!
You forgot to mention that his German subs are also shit, even if you ignore the old spelling.
Yep, you’re right. Maximum autism.
Ah, forgot to mention, those “two groups” even co-op with “each other”.
Advanced paranoid schizophrenia?
Or dissociative identity disorder.
Hey D_S when’s the next post about subgroup drama coming?
When drama happens, I’ll be there for you.
I… don’t know if I missed something, but is that the real Xythar posting again in this site or someone impersonating him? I just wanna know if the potential drama will be coming back or not.
(Please forgive my utter ignorance)
Yes.
>>real or fake?
>Yes.
(╬ ಠ益ಠ)
The former.
Review that Vivid Noir guy’s release instead!
Ah, you guys did a fine enough job of that already. <3
Are you reviewing FLag’s episode 5 script? Is it too late to tell you to look at episode 6 instead (or any other episode that had QC done)?
Yes, it’s too late if you waited to tell me that until after I said I didn’t like the release.
If it’s any consolation, the problems I noticed are mainly the result of your TL and editor being dysfunctional. I wouldn’t expect a QC to be responsible for fixing them.
Though I do feel sympathy for your editor who was apparently forced to deal with sentences like “I’m Diva-chan, Ortus’ place doctor”.
Wtf..
I just realised that “place” was probably a typo of “palace”.
Yup, a very unfortunate typo to make.
Can you add DameDesuYo to Love Lab?
I’d like to see a review of their Love Lab as well. I’ve been watching their releases all season and enjoyed them.
Apologies if this was already asked.
Well, he only has one review up for a series I don’t see myself talking about anymore. If he beats me to the punch on a show, sure, I’ll include a link to his site. I love 8th. But I’m not in the habit of editing old reviews for minor reasons, and I don’t plan to start now.
Alright. Thanks for the response!
Keep up the awesome work.
Shimapan just started up a third group tag for the project above.
http://leninvi.wordpress.com/
I think he might actually be insane.
> The translation was in a very poor shape, so correcting it all took quite a while.
This can only end well.
http://www.diffchecker.com/fiw3dv7s (typesetting left in because herkz is lazy)
I think he’s just taking the piss now. Oh well.
Can I request for kimisubs, lag/lag-chuu, and nubles for kimi no iru machi releases? I mean, translation reviews. :)
New posts rarely came on weekdays (monday-friday) in the past. The past 12 fansub reviews (not counting disqualification) have all been weekday posts. It’s funny how you’ve switched around your reviewing schedule this season.
Some official outfit seems to have picked up Love Lab seeing how HorribleSubs has released rips of it. One more thing for you to not get around to. ;)
Crunchyroll picked it up a couple of weeks ago.
Updated.
Think you could review our (DameDesuYo) release of the Seitokai no Ichizon Lv.2 OVA? its on Nyaa, tosho and minglong.
small patch to fix alignment error on OP: http://d.pr/f/CJWS
I had a look through the script real quick to look at grammar and such. Make of it what you will.
02:55 – “I’m always thirsty for your chocolate!” (shouldn’t that be ‘hungry’?)
04:10 – “You won’t look at other girls anymore, understand?” (pretty sure it’s ‘any more’)
06:39 – “How could you ruin my hopes like that!?” (the only expression I know of like this is ‘dashing one’s hopes’)
07:03 – “Don’t you have a TV recording today?” (if I’m not mistaken, ‘shoot’ is the correct term here since she’s actually in it)
07:20 – “Oh, a compulsory chocolate?” (‘giri’ means ‘obligation’, not ‘compulsory’. ‘Giri-choko’ is on wikipedia for crying out loud)
Crap, misclicked and posted.
10:29 – “I’ve got so much!” (I’d roll with ‘I’ve gotten so much’ but that’s more because the current line feels awkward)
12:35 – “Well, it should be fine to just talk to him how I always do.” (isn’t this supposed to be ‘like I always do’?
17:55 – “I see. Then it makes me all the more happy.” (should be ‘all the happier’)
In short: still things to improve on but then again, there’s no such thing as a flawless fansub.
Thanks for the quick feedback tho i was looking for a more overall review. Definitely editing has been one of our trouble areas so if thats all we missed, that’s a good sign.
> 10:29 – “I’ve got so much!” (I’d roll with ‘I’ve gotten so much’ but that’s more because the current line feels awkward)
cf. urban dictionary. #2 is a prime example.
I’d have this fucking Love Lab review out by now if FFF didn’t suck so fucking much. Goddamn.
